Eric Bednarz

Styles: Gypsy Jazz

Upright Bass

Born in 1969 bassist Eric Bednarz grew up in Germany where he became notorious for his Jimi Hendrix imitations as a teenager. In 1993 he kissed pop and rock music goodbye and began to concentrate on jazz in general and the upright bass in particular. Following secondary school he joined the Enschede and Amsterdam conservatories where he studied with Ruud Ouwehand, Ernst Glerum, Arnold Dooyeweerd and Frans van der Hoeven.

Eric has played at performances and recordings with Benny Bailey, Pete York, Masha Bijlsma, Frank Wunsch, Helge Scneider and Hakim Ludin and is a very active freelance musician in Holland and abroad.
